Finance Calculators

Compound interest and investment growth, worked step by step so you can see how the future value is built, not just what it is.

Compound interest is fundamentally an exponent problem: the growth formula A = P(1 + r/n)^(nt) is the same shape as any repeated-multiplication problem, which is why the exponent rules guide and the rule-of-72 doubling-time estimate both apply directly to it. If you are comparing loan or mortgage offers rather than growing an investment, the same formula still applies - only the sign of the cash flow changes.

Every figure is checked against our engine before each build - see how this calculator is tested.
